Café Mundo located at 202 Trade Street in Historic Greer Station is hosting its second live acoustic singer/songwriter “Battle of the Bands” to celebrate local musical artists. The contest will consist of a 5 week elimination process to determine a winner. The event will take place between February 19th and March 20th. There will be a panel of 3 judges to narrow down a winner based on certain criteria such as style, originality, vocals, etc. The competition will consist of a 30 minute time slot for performance with a maximum of six songs. Two performing artists will perform each night until narrowed down to the final winner.
The performance can be by an individual musician or group (max 4 persons). All songs must be original works by the artists. Limited equipment will be provided. Songs are encouraged to be acoustic in style and the more unique the better.
A $25.00 non-refundable registration fee is required to participate and prize money will be awarded to the best band. Tips are accepted and appreciated for participating bands.
